On Thursday, August 16th, the entire staff of Beacon Development Group traded desks, computers, and telephones for hard hats, work gloves, and manual labor as the Beacon team spent the day volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Seattle/South King County. Over the course of the day, staff worked at hauling lumber, mixing and pouring cement, sawing lumber, and hammering nails at a Habitat home that is being built in the High Point neighborhood of West Seattle. By the end of the day everyone agreed it was a day well spent, both in terms of serving the larger community and in building a stronger sense of team among staff members.
