Beacon Development Group has teamed with Catholic Housing Services of Eastern Washinton to develop an energy efficient, affordable housing project that will serve low-income farmworkers in Pasco, WA.  Tepeyac Haven is scheduled to open in late spring.

Each year, the Washington State Housing Finance Commission honors a few individuals and organizations for their important to the affordable housing community. This year at the Housing Washington conference, Beacon President, Paul Purcell, was given for this distinguished award.

Seattle facility will help former drug, alcohol abusers on road to recovery
Five years from now, Calvin Miles plans to be a full-fledged success story, hopefully with a career in real estate, able to give back to people where he can. Traugott Terrace will be one of his stepping stones. Miles, a former narcotics abuser, is the first resident of the Archdiocesan Housing Authority’s new facility for low-income former drug and alcohol abusers who are determined to turn their lives around.

Housing opens in Belltown for those in rehabilitation
Scores of well-wishers turned out yesterday for the dedication of Traugott Terrace, a new housing project in Belltown with 50 permanent and transitional apartments for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts who need access to social services.

Traugott Terrace receives City’s SeaGreen Award
The City of Seattle will present its first SeaGreen Award for sustainable affordable housing to Traugott Terrace, a new 50-unit Belltown apartment building for low-income residents. Traugott Terrace used many green-building practices to become the first affordable housing project in the United States to receive Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
