The Oakland Building
This Bellingham project is a historic rehab of a building constructed in 1890. The development provides 20 units of affordable housing for a downtown workforce and five street-level retail spaces.


Project Description: The Oakland block is a brick and stucco National Register-listed historic building with 20 residential units above five commercial spaces. Laundry room and secure on-site storage are provided for the new apartments on the second and third floor levels.

Residents Served: The Oakland block building serves individuals with incomes at or below 50% of median income, with 11 of the 20 units in the project reserved for those with incomes at or below 30% of AMI. Four units are set aside for persons with disabilities.
