The Alder Crest Apartments were originally built in 1977 of wood frame construction. Lack of quality maintenance required that every major component of the site and structure be repaired or replaced. The completed rehabilitation consists of 24 one-bedroom apartments and 12 two-bedroom units with seven units set aside for individuals or families affected by disability, and an additional eight units set aside for families transitioning from homelessness. The Alder Crest Apartment building is located in West Seattle just one block from the High Point Community Center. This location is particularly appropriate for meeting the needs of the population served because community space, play space, case management, and other services are readily accessible at the Community Center.
Alder Crest Apartments house primarily individuals, couples, and small families, including single parents with children, who earn less than 30% and 50% of area median income. Additionally, seven units are set-aside for individuals or families affected by disability, and an additional eight units are set-aside for families with children transitioning from homelessness. Residents have access to case management services and service referrals for both adult family members and their children. These services are provided primarily by Catholic Community Services of King County. |
