Avondale Park was developed as part of a master plan for a ten-acre former Coast Guard base in the City of Redmond, WA. In addition to these 58 units of shelter and transitional housing, the site now supports 80 market-rate townhomes that were privately developed, 20 affordable townhomes developed by Habitat for Humanity, and a public park owned by the City of Redmond. The 50 transtional units at Avondale Park are distributed among 12 two- and three-story duplexes, triplexes and fourplexes. The 8 emergency shelter units are located in a central building that houses case management and adminsitrative offices, in addition to a large community room. There are 61 total apartments at Avondale park: 20 one-bedrooms, 29 two-bedrooms, 10 three-bedrooms and 2 four-bedrooms. Eight of these apartments are energency shelter units, fifty are transitional housing allowing stays of up to two years, and three are resident manager units.
