Constructed in 1970, the Catalina Apartments had fallen into disprepair. Intercommunity Mercy Housing, as part of its mission, actively pursued the purchase, preservation and rehabilitation of the two buildings. The gut-rehabs were completed in September 2006 and April 2007 on the two building phases, and the project will remain affordable to low-income and homeless individuals and families for the long-term future.
