Project Description:
Constructed in 1970, the Catalina Apartments had fallen into disprepair. Intercommunity Mercy Housing, as part of its mission, actively pursued the purchase, preservation and rehabilitation of the two buildings. The gut-rehabs were completed  in September 2006 and April 2007 on the two building phases, and the project will remain affordable to low-income and homeless individuals and families for the long-term future.

1616 Building Number and Type of Units: Eighteen total units, including 2 one-bedroom units, 10 two-bedroom units and 6 three-bedroom units.

1717 Building Number and Type of Units: Twenty-five total units, including 4 one-bedroom units, 13 two-bedroom units and 8 three-bedroom units.

Residents Served: : Low income individuals and small families. Fifty percent of the units are reserved for households earning less than 30% of the area median income (AMI); 11 units are available for households earning up to 40% of AMI; the balance is 60 AMI. Nine units are set-aside as permanent housing for the homeless; Eight Units are set-aside as housing for the disabled..
