Desert Haven is located within the city of Othello, WA, and is comprised of thirteen duplexes as well as a building that houses the community center, and large, outdoor play area. The focus of the project is on large-families as demonstrated by the fact that the majority of units are three-or four-bedroom.
All of the units are designed for agricultural workers and their families. 25% of these units are for families at 50% of the area’s average median income and 75% are for families at 40% AMI. Six of the units are two-bedroom, fifteen are three-bedroom, and four are four-bedroom. One additional unit is set-aside for the resident manager. The project’s location within the city provides residents with easy access to essential community services and employment centers. Additionally, the on-site community center allows service providers to conduct meetings, interviews, and appointments at the Desert Haven location. |
